What it does

Unlock PDF takes a PDF that asks for a password every time you open it and — using the password you supply — saves a copy that doesn't. This is meant for the file you already own but are tired of typing the password into: monthly bank statements, payslips, tax exports, reports your own team encrypts by default. It cannot recover a password you never had.

How to use it

  1. Upload your password-protected PDF file using the drag-and-drop area.
  2. Enter the document's current password in the password field.
  3. Click 'Unlock PDF' to remove the password protection.
  4. The tool decrypts the document and creates an unprotected copy.
  5. Download the unlocked PDF — it can now be opened and used without any password.

Key features

Why it helps

Best when you keep re-opening the same protected file — annual mortgage statements you paste into a spreadsheet, HR letters you archive, contracts you need to copy clauses out of. Removing the password once means text is selectable, printing works from any device, and you're not scrambling for a saved-password note six months later. Keep the unlocked copy on a device only you access.
